A NEW HUE IN THE PEW!
On Sunday, September 9th, as we entered our pews, we were greeted by the vibrant Pentecost red of our new hymnals. H. George Anderson, the second presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, once told a congregation that if conditions in our country should change to such a degree so that churches could continue only one of the many activities in which they now engage, that one would have to be the worship of Almighty God. On Rally Sunday, with gratitude to the many skilled people who have worked for years to produce the new hymnal, Evangelical Lutheran Worship, and in gratitude also to the members of our
congregation who have purchased the hymnals, we lifted hearts and voices in prayer, praise, and thanksgiving to Almighty God, our Father.
