Worship & Music
Purpose:
The Worship and Music Committee is called to plan for active, welcoming, Christ-centered worship in which God, through the Word and Sacraments, and empowers all to grow and serve.
This committee plans for the traditional service, Lenten services, and special services, choosing appropriate hymns and composing occasional services.
Music in Mission organ and choral concerts are presented twice a year. Freewill offerings for these go into the Evangeline Meyer Scholarship Fund, from which a scholarship is given each year to either a second-year seminary student or a church music major, who may be either an undergraduate or graduate student.
The Worship and Music committee oversees the altar committee, which takes care of the altar and sets up and cleans up for communion.
